about

The origins of the The Hague band Timelock go back to the early nineties. At that time Julian Driessen (keyboards, formerly Ywis) and Ruud Stoker (vocals) decided to join forces more permanently after several joint projects and form a new band called: The last Detail. After a successful CD entitled "At Last... The Tale!" (1990), they focused on live performances. Very soon they found themselves playing 013 (then The Noorderligt) in Tilburg as a support act to Saga. They also played Paradiso in Amsterdam together with Strangers on a Train and Egdon Heath. Their CD and gigs made them popular with a growing public. This made them turn out a CD-single "The Wrong Century" in 1991. After some changes to the band, the name was also changed and got it's present name: Timelock. Guitarist Rinus Hollenberg (formerly Ywis) and bass player Bert de Bruijne (previously The Missing Link) joined the formation and shortly after drummer Rob Louwers joined to form the new band. In 1992 the CD "Louise Brooks" was released on the SI label. It was well received and another series of live performances followed as did another CD. In 1994 their second album "The Dawn" was released. The production and compositions had a more powerful and professional sound. SI stopped in 1995 and Rinus Hollenberg and Rob Louwers subsequently left the band. The remaining three musicians looked for new additions to the band. First Guitarist Martin Hendriks and later on drummer Rob Boshuizen (formerly Maryson) joined the band. Soon Timelock were practicing and writing new songs. Through the newcomers the sound got a more symphonic character; powerful and melodic. After some years of 'radio silence' Timelock is now back with a new CD entitled "Circle of Deception". The album has 10 tracks and has everything that you can ask from a symphonic band. Very striking is the song "LouiseBrooks Revisited", which is a sequel to the title track of their first album. The cooperation of Ed Wernke and Hans van Lint (both from FAF-For Absent Friends) is surprising. The new CD is planned to be released by the Xymphonia label in october 2002. Timelock will be back on stage again at the end of the year to promote their new album.

Timelock is:

Mike Boekhout - Drums
Bert de Bruijne - Bass
Ronald Demilt - Guitars
Julian Driessen - Keyboards
Ruud Stoker - Vocals

Discography:
2008 - Buildings
2002 - Circle of Deception
1994 - The Dawn
1992 - Louise Brooks

Additionally...
At the end of 2004 Martin and Rob decided to play music in a different style and leave Timelock. Consequence is a period of ostensible silence. The band continues to write songs and is in search for replacement. After a while Ronald Demilt was found as a new player for Timelock. To find an appropriate drummer was not that easy. 2006, the idea arises to contact Mike Boekhout who played in the band before.

But please do not discard the band after all these years, something is brewing.....
